it's like winning first place, or maybe it's just an egg of a different color and we won't know how it all comes out until january. whatever. wow, both houses. lordy.

at least dick and george won't be able to say 'stay the course' and get a rubber stamp by the most corrupt congressional group of repuglicans ever to fool an entire electorate mostly made up of naive evangelicals on one side and naive redheads on the other...

so the dems will lead the house and the senate. whoodathunk.

it was mostly because we're against this war and we want out of iraq. so, of course, now there's all of this definistrating about what we 'really' meant by 'redeploy'...who is kidding whom? what we 'really' meant was to pull out of iraq, period. leave the umptyump 'permanent' bases we have built all over the country and leave it. the iraqis will split up into 3 or 4 or 5 countries and figure out what to do, with our profound apologies for screwing them. we will not spend one more life on trying to 'stay' anywhere in iraq...

there is no way to save this war, our honor, our dead, our country's pride...nothing will bring any of that back, but we can turn our considerable power--what's left of it--to getting on with the business of mending our tents and minding our good will not only abroad but first and foremost here at home. first piece of housekeeping: reinstate the tax on the freaking billionaires, put a major rake on the profiteering of the oil giants and scrape it into a giant fund for repairing the gulf coast, through small business and individual family homebuilding grants and not one damn dollar to halliburton, put a severe squeeze on the auto industry requiring hybrids and outlawing all new production of cars that are not hybrids, and starting the process for impeaching the hell out of our criminal prez and veep...and then we will sue their asses for every penny they own both now and in the future and divide up those funds for 'redeployment' to every family whose son, father, daughter, mother was killed in service to this country since 2001....it will not be enough, it will never be enough, but it will be a step in the direction of righting a most terrible wrong...
