more bilious talk

the cost of doing nothing rakes up a pile of ashes in me...

i'm not talking about the cost of a house sitting still

nor surmising the risk on investments

nor even the administrator's walk-about

...merely speculating on what it is going to cost this nation

in the lapse of hope 

as the clock ticks down on a democratic president with a two-house majority

that did nothing to distinguish itself on health care, 

or getting out of iraq and afghanistan,

or getting out of dadt

or anything else.

the national jaws of victory of 2008 have snatched the defeat of 2010

...and an entire generation of good to be done for the people

has been lost here in texas.

bah. it always was a bad game, but the corporations have stolen us,

and now we watch the magnificence of our demise.

unless something happens.
