it's the money, stupid

they say that our democratic president is prepared to ''change'' health care by dropping a public option -- buckling under to the republican heat, admitting defeat to the shouters who have closed down townhall meetings across the country -- and promoting the same private system of big insurance and big pharmacy that is bleeding this country dry...

now, why would you voluntarily kill the only public option to a proposed health care system -- that looks an AWFUL lot like the current system -- for the very people who cannot afford the one we've already got? what in hell is going on here...? but then, well...

keep in mind that the so-called ''public option'' is NOT the single-payer health care plan that he so strongly convinced us was the right thing to do --before he was elected-- and then never allowed it on the table--took it OFF of the table in fact.

'remember the one about the snake that offered the rabbit--or some cute little innocent looking animal.... let's just say it's a rabbit-- a ride across the river? after much convincing that he would come to no harm, the rabbit gets on the back of the snake and off they go. half-way across, the snake turns and bites the rabbit-- who pitifully gasps before he dies, "but, why?" ... to which the snake replied, ''you knew i was a snake before we started."
it's not that we didn't know he was a corporatist--we knew. it's not that we thought he was a progressive--we knew he wasn't. but... but... but....

but...he so blatantly defies logic and sells out the american public with the same breathtaking bite.

ego aside.... the appearance of ''winning'' aside... what is wrong with the logic of letting the damn thing fail and laying the dead bill at the feet of the insurance industry and their hacks in the republican party and these gol'darn whatever they are blue dogs -- which are probably just blue elephants that bark but who can tell what they are in all that dark up there??

really...what is the logic in offering to do their dirty work for them? to remove the only option to buying health care from an industry whose only goal is to make a profit? ...at least make the elephant dogs go on record as voting the thing down. can you not point a finger at the TRULY offending party any more?

otherwise, what a price to pay for getting something we've already got that doesn't work.

oh.

wait.

so maybe this isn't about conservatives and liberals... maybe this is about BIG MOOLA vs the american people. it's really hard to tell who is who in this cast of characters isn't it?

yeah.
